Since the early 90′s I have been curious about FIMO. I didn’t even know if it was sold in stores, or what it was.
Well, let me tell you: it is a very interesting material.

It is very difficult to work with if you are new to it; but by the second day, I started to get smart, and I changed the technique.

I was trying to make little Italian and American flags, and the first ones were a total disaster. So, the trick here is to make coils, put them together then flatten them, instead of trying to put flat pieces together.

I ended up with a ton of coils, which is funny, because my idea was to create pins for two of the members of the Italian band Lacuna Coil (Cristina Scabbia and Cristiano Mozzati), who had been extremely nice to me when I met them.

Anyway, I found this site “How to make your own Fimo beads,” which was very helpful.

Now, next time I work with fimo, I will probably make some pieces, bake them, then attach them to the others, because I had a really hart time, keeping them straight, and any amount of pressure on the piece you are working WILL ruin everything you’ve done!

On the other hand, it was a lot of fun, and I will definitely buy more and make more little sculls with Cristiano’s hair do!
