The Process of Creation
From beginning to end, creating a piece of art takes a long time, sometimes, one piece can be a “work in progress” for years before you feel it is finished; while other pieces are done in only weeks.
As a general rule, it seems the most artist start with sketches before they even decide the type of media they are going to use for the piece. After the idea is a little bit more concrete, other things get involved such as colors, materials, dimensions, etc.
To me, creating a piece is not so much about the final product as much as it is the process that takes me there. I love working on a piece at every stage, and I enjoy taking pictures of every step, then reviewing what I have accomplished and where I am going with the piece; sometimes, looking at the pictures gives me a new perspective on the subject, sometimes it makes me take a new direction with the piece or even change it completely.
I find the PROCESS of creation FASCINATING, not only for pieces I am working on, but also, what other artists go through to create their own pieces.
On this section, you will find pictures of that “Process.”
I hope you enjoy it and maybe this will inspire you to create something by yourself!
